I have been somewhat overwhelmed by the response to the initial 'Let's see if anyone is interested' postings I made and as far as I can tell, we now have subscribers from every continent except Greenland and Antarctica. The more the merrier, so please feel free to mention it to anyone that you think might be interested. There will probably be a few glitches to start with, so please also bear with me while I get myself organised. FIRST OFF, PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL MESSAGES INTENDED FOR POSTING TO THE LIST ARE SENT TO think.tank@tesco.net AND NOT BY HITTING 'REPLY' TO THE ADDRESS FROM WHICH THE LIST COMES, OR THEY END UP GETTING MIXED UP WITH ALL MY OTHER EMAILS. I suggest that you post messages as new messages to the think.tank address to avoid this problem. The first posting actually arrived before launch, so an end to my ramblings and over to you.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2)Karl Grubb [karl@grubb72.freeserve.co.uk] Turret markings hello all I wonder if any one has any info on turret markings for Tiger 1 E( pz sw abt 3/503) particularly markings on muzzle brakes etc ??? plse advise cheers Karl -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3)C. Lloyd-Staples [chris@lloydstaples.screaming.net] GAZ jeeps No sooner had I sent my 'subscribe' reply, I remembered something. Has anyone got any photos of GAZ-64, -67, or -67B jeeps in Soviet service during WW2. This is the Tamiya Russian Jeep! Even though I have a large collection of books, I have absolutely no pictures of it in troop use during the War, despite thousands being produced. I have a single photo of one in a parade, and thats all. Anyone able to help? Chris Lloyd-Staples -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4)Björn [burrabee@hem1.passagen.se] A cry for help First Thank you for starting this and second has anyone pictures or anything else that could help me in building a Swedish Leopard IIS (Strv 122)? What I need is everything that could help me with the top of the turret. I can't figure out what they have done with it. With every new picture I find, It makes me more confused. Maybe I should build a German Leopard instead. A/C in 1/35? Great idea. I hope it takes off (ummm, figuratively!). Anyway, I am looking for a 1/35 model of the Dutch DAF 38 (I think!) A/C that was developed shortly before WWII. yes, the 6 wheeler that US M-8 Greyhound sort of resembles. I have seen a couple announcements, but never a model... Thanks, Bruce -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6)IAN HANRATTY [IAN@hanra.freeserve.co.uk] REF SHERMAN 11C FIREFLIES could you please enquire if anyone could help me with photos and details of the SHERMAN 11C FIREFLY, i am having difficulty finding any clear photos of this vehicle as i would like to build one. I am also after details of what units used them. cheers ian h. I have never seen any photos of a Sherman IIC (M4A1 hull with 17pdr) or a stowage diagram for one and my suspicion is that they did not exist, although the Sherman IC (M4 hull, both welded and composite) does appear. However, perhaps someone can prove me wrong...
