I have a resin T-28 nearing completion. Somewhere along the way I lost a few road wheels. Does anyone out there have a junker ICM kit I can get a few replacements from? I would also like to get the plastic tracks out too. Cleaning up the separate white metal tracks doesn't really appeal to me. Please reply to me at Brent_A_Theobald@notes.seagate.com Thank you very much! Brent As there are two T-28s in resin that I know of, I assume this one to be the 1930s Soviet heavy tank, not the post-war US affair with four sets of tracks, in case anyone is confused. Wahl [wahl@mannheimer.de] Subject: Re: IFOR Decals Phill wrote >> Does anybody know of a company/individual who makes 1/35 IFOR decals << Hi Phill, There´s a German company called ´Truckline´ that do them - along with other stuff meant to be used w/ modern German armor - but can also be used w/ other NATO stuff. Wouldn´t know of a Brit supplier right away, but maybe this´ll help some already. If not, contact me and I´ll scan mine, send you the pic and if that´s what you´re looking for - get them and bring ´em to the Nats or mail them to you. Unfortunately I haven't had time to reply before now due to work commitments. My main interests are 1/76 scale unusual and experimental armour and softskinned vehicles. Anything from the armoured Fowler traction engines of the Boer War to the modern period. At the moment I'm stockpiling kits for future projects and I'm also actively seeking out of print books and magazine articles, (scratchbuilds, conversions, etc.), which would be of use to me, e.g. old Bellona plans, books, Airfix mags, Almark books, Almark Modelworld magazines, etc, etc. Hope to hear from you soon, Yours sincerely, Grant Parkin. Welcome aboard, Grant. I have found that the best way to acquire out of print material such as those you mention is to trawl the second hand traders, and also the boxes underneath club stands, at model shows. I don't know where you are located, but the UK IPMS Nationals is one of the most useful for that sort of thing, although often some of the smaller shows can yield plenty of goodies. I accumulated almost an entire collection of Bellona prints by such means (having been a penniless schoolboy when they were published) and don't think I paid more than a pound for any of them. The same applies to magazines - several traders have whole boxes of them at prices between 10p and £1 each and you can look through them at your leisure to find what is there. The trick is to have a means of knowing which ones you already have so that you don't end up with a collection of duplicates, and also that the ones you buy are complete - I do not suggest that traders are dishonest in this but sometimes they will buy a box of magazines which the original owner had butchered, and may even have forgotten he had done it. Caveat emptor! I am in the process of assembling an index of AFV-related articles in magazines in my collection but it is a long process and will be some months before even the ones I have are finished. As I understand it, the Tamiya kit is closer to a Mk.3 than the advertised Mk.5. Can anyone give me an idea as to what I have to do additions/deletions wise to the Tamiya kit to make it an accurate Mk.3? Thanks, Chris Evenden This is a comparatively easy one, as there is not too much in the way of rebuilding and it is mostly a case of detailing. I have measured most if not all of the relevant features (although I ignored the original NBC pack provided in Tamiya's kit, I do have photos) on various vehicles for my later version (still, unsurprisingly, unfinished ;-)..). I will attempt to come up with a list for next week's volume.
