Well, for the lazy amongst us (i.e. me!) you can buy these nozzles at R/C shops, they are named under the ZAP brand, wholesaled by Ripmax. I have a packet of six, which has lasted me for years with careful cleaning after use. Full catalogue at www.herbooks.dircon.co.uk Kits "Combat Ready" is a growing range from, I think, Cromwell. 1/76 resin vehicles with wargamers in mind. As wargamers don't have fingers these are very largely assembled with a minimum of small bits and suspension cast on. They're designed to be wargamer-proof, and so, for example, the suspension and hull are part of a solid block extending from belly to ground. This said, detail is good. The range covers some things Cromwell didn't - Matilda, Valentine, A9, Crusader, T26S - and they come in at a good price - £6.75 for an MBT, 3 Bren carriers for £11.95. These may give you something to work with, and are good way to get things as paint-scheme demonstrators. From: Chiltern Miniatures - chilternmodels.demon.co.uk Figures The lovely AB range of 20mm/1/76th metal crews is being expanded and revamped. It now includes some very nice PBI as well as crews, and the quality is higher than ever - www.ab-figures.demon.co.uk. They do very good '44 Brits. Hope this is of use Mike Cooper Reading UK I have numerous packs of the AB figures (used to be called Wargames South) and they are indeed excellent. Plenty of character and they are actually in proportion, so can be used in models as opposed to being restricted to wargamers. I saw the British infantry at Salute last year and a colleague is sitting on several packs for me until I can get them from him. AB has a website with photos of some of the range and a full listing, at http://www.ab-figures.demon.co.uk/aboutus.htm Robert -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From: Mike Cooper [coopmik1@hotmail.com] Subject: DAK colours and Chilean M51s Dear all 1. Does anyone know anything up-to-date and based on cited primary documentation about Afrika Korps colours? Nothing I've read is consistent about the two RAL tones that seem to have been used, and there is conflict between stated colours and some descriptions and chips. 2. Anyone know a source for colours for Chilean M51s?? Mike Cooper -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From: Daniel Taylor [d-taylor@dircon.co.uk] Subject: M3A3 photo - Normandy Hi A couple of issues ago, someone asked about pictures of M3A3 Stuarts in Normandy. It just struck me I have one framed on my wall. It is IWM ref. B5603 and shows said vehicle advancing toward the camera, all hatches open, lots of dust and kit. It is a 7AD vehicle probably from either 1RTR, 5RTR or 4CLY. If you would like a photocopy, please give me your address and I'll send one to you. All the best Dan Taylor -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From: Daniel Taylor [d-taylor@dircon.co.uk] Subject: QLR Hi All, You are to blame for something of a resurgence in my modelmaking. Thanks to Think Tank replies, I've actually got round to finishing half a dozen models that would otherwise have lain dormant for years including a Sexton and an M3 Scout car that I had successfully put off for years. Thanks very much! Next project then. I am coming round to the idea of re-doing the old Airfix Bedford QL as a radio bodied vehicle. I have photographs (of the type 3 body) but no plans. Does anyone have a good set they could copy for me please? I'll pay any costs or do a quid pro quo. May thanks in anticipation Dan Taylor -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRADERS, ANNOUNCEMENTS & NOTICEBOARD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) From: Robert Lockie [rlockie@platosoftware.com] Subject: Tankette indices to Vol.35 No.6 Having failed for some reason to get myself organised enough to send out the last update, I will be sending out the version including 35/6 shortly. Anyone who wishes to be added to the list (they go out as a self-extracting compressed Excel 5 file) should contact me via rlockie@platosoftware.com and I will add them to the list. It is free of charge, by the way. Robert -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: Listmaster Subject: Next few issues I will be away for several weekends over the coming weeks, so Think Tank will go out as and when I am at home and there is sufficient material to justify a digest. So don't panic if you don't hear from me for a few days!
