It is dark and I feel a weight on my chest, there is a buzzing in my ear I feel disorientated. What’s going on? Enlightenment! I am in bed and it’s still dark and that buz is the alarm. Get up you fool it’s NSW Model show day it’s a long drive down to the Illawarra and you have a road trip partner to pick up along the way. So with my faculties intact and my heart full of optimism set off, first stop collect my road trip buddy, Warren and his squadrons of planes and armor to display on the APMA tables at the show.

What a great and eclectic collection of models on show this month. Space ships, monsters, coffin cars and Canberra bombers all graced the tables, thanks to our themes of ‘TV & movies’ and the letter ‘C’ . Not only were the tables jam packed with models but so was the days program. This included a visit from Charmain Travis, daughter of our recently departed Jim Travis and a display of rare Frog kits from 1976. There was a great turn out this month and the tables were full! Our special anniversary theme of ‘The Fifties’ was quite popular. Combined with our regular monthly theme the letter ‘B’ and the General Display we had a total of 71 model on the tables. Matt from Sideline Hobbies sponsored the winner of this months special anniversary theme as voted by members attending the meeting. Ian Wrenford took out first place and won the $50 Sideline Hobbies gift voucher for his 1950’s Chevrolet cop dusting refueling ute.
