There was a great turn out this month and the tables were full! Our special anniversary theme of ‘The Fifties’ was quite popular. Combined with our regular monthly theme the letter ‘B’ and the General Display we had a total of 71 model on the tables.
Matt from Sideline Hobbies sponsored the winner of this months special anniversary theme as voted by members attending the meeting. Ian Wrenford took out first place and won the $50 Sideline Hobbies gift voucher for his 1950’s Chevrolet cop dusting refueling ute. See the theme winners cards below for more details this and other models on the table this month.
Finally Ley Reynolds presented a most interesting talk on the Bristol Blenheim which started life as an airliner. Then after a challenge from the newspaper proprietor Lord Rothermere it was modified to become a ‘fast’ light bomber. Ley talked about the construction techniques, difference between variants, including the Canadian Bolingbroke and the countries that flew them a during the war.
